OH LORD, I’M PUZZLED (small devotion booklet)
INTRODUCTION
Jigsaw puzzles first crept on the scene as a learning tool created by a 1760s map
maker. Cut up the map and have the student reassemble it to learn geography is a
good idea that we still use today. Education gave birth to entertainment and in the
early 1900s, Parker Bros. started creating puzzles for the common man. A
resurgence of puzzle popularity arose during the Depression Era of the 1930s as a
form of escape from troubled times and an opportunity to find some success even

During the recent pandemic, the puzzle culture grew again. People, forced to stay at
home, needed an inexpensive distraction and puzzles filled that need for many.
Facebook posts of completed jigsaw puzzles popped up weekly. This devotion booklet
is designed to show how God can take our puzzled lives and put us together to shine in
His glory.
