rHistorical Romance - 1850s
Goodness Leads Fraulein Lena to America from her childhood German home by her immigrant brother to help raise her motherless niece and nephew. She arrives to the appalling sight of a New Orleans slave auction and America’s general inhumanity leading to war when she is befriended by a dashing young abolitionist who schools her in the American ways. Dashing Karl accompanies her up the Mississippi River to her brother’s southern Illinois farm. Lena’s brother Herman discovers the young man’s interest in Lena, and he is not pleased. Herman brought her to America because he needed her nurturing help and fears she may be whisked away by this rogue love interest. Can impulsive abolitionist Karl bide his time and wait for the lass who captured his heart on the river? Waiting in the wings is not his style. His charming pursuits only tears Lena’s loyalties between passionate sparks and family honor. Yet, she constantly seeks the Lord’s direction to appease both men in her life and stay faithful to God’s calling. Only God can lead her For the Love of Family. |
Devotions - Available September 2022
When the world rages, God provides a safe place. When you feel scared, your heavenly Father comforts you. And when you are feeling strong and brave, rejoicing in the good things life offers, the Lord is with you then too. The devotions in this book, based on Psalm 91, blend the voices of fifty-two authors to praise Him and guide you with words to reflect and rejoice upon. You will find yourself reading them as God calls you, returning to those that resonate with you in the moment. Wherever you are in your life and whatever it is that life is throwing at you, you can shelter with our Lord. He loves you, provides for you, delivers you from evil, forgives you, redeems you, restores you. You will find my contribution on page 42. |
